Step 1: Start Diving

1.1. Acquire Your Open Water Diver Certification

To start with, finish your PADI Open Water Diver course. It is an elite certification you need to get if you wish to dive freely up to a depth of 18 metres together with your buddy.

1.2. Develop Your Skills with the Advanced Open Water Diver Course
Boost improvement in skills and self-confidence with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. This course offers five adventure dives, such as deep diving, underwater navigation, and peak performance buoyancy.
Increase your self-topic conviction that will be better honed by the experienced instructors of Manchac Dive Shack, LLC, who, through hands-on, will aid you in making experience and improve your diving capability.
1.3. Gain Experience and Complete the Rescue Diver Course
Before becoming an instructor, you will need to gain substantial diving experience. You should aim for at least 60 dives .
Gather some significant diving experience. You should have at least 60 different dives. You are then required to complete the PADI Rescue Diver course that teaches you how to deal with emergencies and assist other divers in times of emergency.
Step 2: Get Professional-Level Certifications
2.1. Become a PADI Divemaster
The PADI Divemaster course is your first step into professional diving. In this intensive program, you will study knowledge development, water skills exercises, workshops, and hands-on practical assessment.
As a Divemaster, you will assist instructors with student divers and develop your leadership abilities.
2.2. Meet the requirements for Instructor Training
To attend the PADI Instructor Development Course IDC, you must meet these requirements:
1.Hold a PADI Divemaster certification or qualifying certification.
2.Log a minimum of 100 dives.
3.Have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care training within the past 24 months.

Step 3: Complete the Instructor Development Course
3.1. Enrol for IDC at Okay Dive
The IDC is a full package course to get one qualified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). It involves two primary programs combined, that is the Assistant Instructor and the Open Water Scuba Instructor. 3.2. Build Your Teaching Skills
The IDC will teach you how to conduct the teaching in all PADI core courses. You will get the opportunity to practise in-house conducting teaching in a classroom environment, pool area, and open water area. Emphasis is placed on knowledge development teaching presentations, confined water teaching presentations, and open water teaching presentations.
3.3. Prepare for the Instructor Examination (IE)
Once the IDC is completed, you have to pass the PADI Instructor Examination, which is two days of evaluation for your teaching skills, dive knowledge, and skills demonstration.
